An Endoscopic Retrograde Cholangiopancreatography (ERCP) uses an endoscope to view the biliary system. An endoscope is a thin tube with a light and a viewing instrument at the end of it. After you are sedated, it is passed through your mouth and into your small intestines. Your Pacific Coast Digestive Health physician can use the endoscope to administer dye to enhance images or to remove a gallstone.
